Anais Lopez / SIGNED !
2013 is a fascinating year because photobooks and books using photographs are again shifting forms a lot. Burundi documents dutch photographer Lopez travels through this central-african country, but uses maps and infographics to explain social relations, distances and geographical and psychological realities. How many beers do you have to drink before your host opens up? And how many mobile phone calls does it take to visit a priest in a far-off village? All this set against color images that are quiet and unassuming while retaining charm and their descriptive values.
