En 1973, Seiichi Furuya quitte le Japon pour l'Autriche où, 5 ans plus tard, il rencontre Christine Gössler. Dès lors, il la photographie dans leur quotidien et durant leurs différents voyages en Allemagne, en Angleterre, en Italie, au Japon... Après la naissance de leur fils en 1981, Christine Gössler s'investit dans le monde du théâtre. Alors qu'elle se dédie à ses leçons, elle montre des signes de schizophrénie. Elle se suicide en 1985 à Berlin. Depuis la perte de sa femme, Furuya n'a cessé de se replonger dans ses archives ce qui a conduit à la publication de Mémoires, une série de livres parus entre 1989 et 2010 puis de Face to Face déjà édité par Chose Commune en 2020.
En 2018, le photographe retrouve des films tournés avec une caméra super 8. L'un d'eux raconte son premier voyage avec Christine Gössler à Bologne, entreprit quelques semaines après leur rencontre. Dans l'objectif de se souvenir de ce voyage, Furuya s'est attardé sur chaque image et constitue ainsi cette série First Trip to Bologna 1978. La série est accompagnée d'une réédition de Last Trip to Venice 1985, initialement auto-édité en 2002.
Présenté par Chose Commune, l'ouvrage remplit de tendresse explore l'intimité d'une relation frappée par le deuil.

Pick up

Return
Retraction possible within 7 days from receiving the order. The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs. Returned books must be in perfect condition. The bookstore reserves the right to refuse reimbursement of the books if this shouldn't be the case.
